  • Biography:
Starting about 1980, a girlfriend and I started taking classes at Marcie Stone's Shepherdess bead store in San Diego. My first class was with Lynne Merchant working with wire. I expanded my repertoire by taking classes in beading, wire-working, metalsmithing, chain maille, etching, soldering and mixed media. Actually, I took just about any class that came around that would help me. I became (and still am) a class junkie!

Then I took Art Clay Classes from Jonna Faulkner and immediately took the Level One Certification. I fell in love working with this medium and seeing it come out as fine silver. My creativity really comes out with Art Clay. It is so versatile that you can incorporate it in all of the above media. My husband and I have been teaching Art Clay for a few years. It is so satisfying to have a person come up to me and want to touch and ask about my jewelry.
    Philosophy:
I love to learn and love to share with others what I have learned. Learning is a process that continues throughout one's life. It is a wonderful thing that each of us has our own creativity. Creativity is very rewarding. I love new challenges and experimenting with many media. When I make a mistake, I can only hope that I can learn from it and correct the mistake. I enjoy teaching and sharing with others to bring out their own creativity. I believe that wearing jewelry gives a person or a group of persons their own identity.

  • Rio Rewards PMC Certification - September 2007
