Biography:
Barbara A. McGuire is a nationally acknowledged artist whose diverse talents include works of polymer clay, painting and jewelry design. She has written 10 books on design and instruction and has developed stamps, templates and molds for artists working in polymer and metal clay. Barbara has appeared as a regular guest of the popular Carol Duvall show. Her work reflects a strong influence of traditional design incorporating innovative materials and collected artifacts. She lives in Buford, Georgia and teaches throughout the country at shows, stores and her home studio. |
Philosophy:
I've been an artist all my life and simply couldn't live without it. It's my calling per say, and on a higher level, my purpose in bringing fulfillment to others. Art is completely subjective in my view, and one of the few things no one can take away from you. I am a rather edgy artist and my favorite thing is an element of surprise and non-conformity. My future objective is to teach design principles as a means to more appealing design quality, and to empower women with the confidence to study on their own creative finesse.
