  • Biography:
I have been an artist all my adult life. I started drawing, painting and textile design in my late teens and throughout my twenties, continuing on to learning design, sculpture and fiber art in my thirties. Now in my forties, I have gravitated toward Art Clay and traditional metal fabrication. I have found they have become a natural extension of the skills built up over my lifetime.

My formal education background is in Anthropology, Art and Environmental studies, culminating in a Bachelors degree majoring in Anthropology.

For me, art is about learning and vision. I learned as much from traveling across Europe and the Middle East visiting cities and museums, as I have form formal art training; the difference being in the applications.

I have learned to bring creations from my head to my hand with formal training, and to see beauty in diversity from travel.

I’d like my future to include sharing art with others, especially those wishing to learn about the many paths to devise, conceive, concoct and produce beautiful things by hand.

No matter where life takes me, I always return to the creative process.
    Philosophy:
People have been adorning themselves with everything from bones and feathers to stones with natural holds. Now we can use platinum and faceted gems but few of us can create those things for ourselves. With Art Clay we can create our own fine treasures.
    Degrees:
B.S. Anthropology, 1997, Linfield College, McMinnville, OR
