  • Biography:
I graduated from the four-year Certificate programthrough the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art (PAFA), with a major in Painting, Drawing and Installation Art, in 1999. I had two group shows after graduation, but I couldn't continue to expand my career in the fine-arts field. I've been working at department stores as a visual merchandising-coordinator, for 4 years. I did this chiefly because of necessity; I felt I was partly "losing touch" with what I studied and with my true nature. But during those years, I encountered the wonderful material: metal clay and I spontaneously fell in love with it. I say so, because with my exploring and experimenting with Art Clay, I see new directions (both personally and objectively) that could be traveled with it. Simply this new medium is so exciting and fun! It rejuvenates my creative passion and motivates me; I've completed ACS certification courses and received Senior Instructor Certification with Art Clay in July 2005.
    Philosophy:
As an instructor, fully sharing the skills, knowledge and ideas of what I learned and developed is a fundamental action. But, one of the most important elements, in order to make a class exciting, is interaction. It's a vital ingredient allowing the creative enthusiasm and motivation in students (and the instructor) to grow; it's the lifeblood that enables the sharing (of skills, etc.). Really, if you look at the whole process (of instruction/interaction) you can see that an instructor is also a student; constantly learning from those they're instructing. Simply put, "Nothing comes from a Vacuum", is an old phrase that best captures what I'm pointing out. Let's make it happen!
