  • Biography:
Judi has been involved with some type of needlework or craft since a very young age. She majored in Fashion Design at Colorado State University, but fell in love with silversmithing after taking a class as part of her art requirements.

Silversmithng, as a career, was never to be, but she still kept the interest. When Art Clay Silver and PMC came along, it seemed the best of both worlds - silversmithing and the manipulation of clay. Once she got her hands on the silver clay she became totally immersed. Glass fusing has added color to the silver and Judi continues to work with both media, as well as polymer clay.

Judi has certifications with both brands of metal clay, but has decided to concentrate her efforts with Art Clay. Judi just received her Art Clay Senior Certification in November, 2007, and will be teaching Art Clay Certification classes in San Antonio, Texas.

Her work has been published in several magazines such as Art Jewelry, Studio PMC and Polymer Café.
    Philosophy:
After years of experimenting with various media of arts and crafts, my focus has finally landed with metal clay while fused glass and polymer clay are close behind. Since all three types of media work well together, there is room for all of them.

I love sharing my experiences with others because I feel it's important that everyone has an outlet from the daily rigors. To be able to create beauty in the world is an awesome feeling. I enjoy the gleam in the eyes of students who have made something beautiful out of just a lump of clay.

This is an ever-learning process and I always learn from my students, as well. This type of sharing is what art is all about. If we're not willing to share ideas and techniques with each other, how will we progress to the next level?
