Biography:
Sophia Tink is the owner of Sophia’s Fashion In Flowers & Jewellery Art Studiolocated in the Haliburton Highlands. A professional Artist and Instructor of one-of-a-kind offerings since 1982, who was formally trained at the Sogetsu Ikebana School in the Japanese Art of Floral Design, a graduate from the Jewelry Arts program from Sir Sandford Fleming College, and is
a Senior Level Certified Art Clay Instructor. Her love of jewelry art utilizes traditional and non-traditional techniques combining Ikebana and jewelry methods to create a unique balance of harmony in her Art. She enjoys helping her students discover their personal creativity. |
Philosophy:
Passion, Nature and Personal Inspiration are how I would describe my artwork. My jewelry is born out of an innermost inspiration, from harmony with nature. My pieces are born out of my passion for flowers, but also by uniting craftsmanship with innovation. Fusing Ikebana, the Art of Flower Design with traditional and non-traditional Jewellery techniques make my designs individualistic, imaginative, and identifiable. I use flowers to represent me, which are classic and modern at the same time, innovative in style and in language, simple and important.
