  • Biography:
I specialize in Art Clay Silver, wire design, hand-wrapped chain making, kumihimo, and basic beading. In another life, I was a professional musician. When repetitive stress injuries left me unable to perform, I sought another creative outlet. While at a bead store, a friend found a wire magazine. After the initial amazement of the amount of wire needed for a project wore off, bought some sterling...and the rest, as they say, is history. I discovered Art Clay and was amazed at its versatility as well. My passions for design and teaching merged in 2004 when I started teaching at the best little bead store in the country, "Beads Beads Beads" in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Through the encouragement of Amy, the store's owner, I have developed innovative projects, designs, and techniques which allow my students to see and use wire in an entirely different way. I've taught at Bead Fest, Bead and Button (the nation's largest bead show), Jewelry Arts Expo and Wire Fest.
    Philosophy:
I love working in jewelry design because of its versatility. I can create with simple elements such as yarn, yet can create detailed pieces with metals, art clay, and wire. But more than the creative process, I enjoy the teaching process. Designing projects for students - watching trends - thinking ahead - watching students as they grasp new concepts, seeing that "aha!" moment - it's my reason for being.
