(S-026) Adventures in BRONZclay & COPPRclay (2 Disc Set) 4.5 hours running time!
Click here to watch an excerpt from this video!
Bronze as a metal has been long been admired for it's colour and durability. The fact that it has to be worked in foundry has prevented the average person from working with it. Copper also requires much sawing and hammering to produce finished items. Now we can take great pleasure in introducing you to the world of adventure with BRONZclay and COPPRclay! The perseverance and determination of Bill Struve, the inventor of these 2 metal clays, has given everyone the opportunity to create items that were not previously possible without a large amount of equipment and expense! Using simple tools, a small kiln, and following the correct firing to attain complete sintering of the metal, items from small charms, to larger sculptural forms can be made. As with any journey of adventure, there are many directions to follow. Some will be more successful than others, but discovery and learning is what adds excitement to the adventure. Never be afraid to repair small breaks and flaws, re-fire, and re-cycle! This will usually redeem any piece and bring it back to finished beauty. Both metals lend themselves to being finished in different ways - leaving the soft matt colours straight from the kiln, or polishing to a high shine, and of course, adding rainbow patina colours for increased beauty.

We have tried to give you a wide range of projects and techniques to try, and encourage you to continue to experiment with both the BRONZclay and COPPRclay to extend your knowledge and experience, and of course, your enjoyment in working with them!
