01/04/07 - New Shipping Policy
Our new shipping policy states that all UPS shipments will require a signature upon delivery.  If you do not want a signature required for your shipments, pleas let us know at the time of ordering.  If you are ordering online, please enter "No Signature Required" in the notes of your order.  We will not be responsible for any issues with packages that do not require a signature.

01/16/07 - New Clearance Items!

01/25/07 - Call for new Art Clay Artists!

02/02/07 - Art Clay Ring on Crafts Report Magazine cover!
An Art Clay Silver ring by Jackie Truty is featured on the cover of the February 2007 issue of the Crafts Report Magazine.  "Jackie was selected from the Crafts Insight submissions.  Insight allows artists to share their business insights with fellow craftspeople in the same medium." 

02/16/07 - New DVD - Coming Soon!
A new two disc DVD will soon be available for purchase.  The combined length of these DVDs is 3.5 hours running time, and covers more advanced projects, including those featured in the October 2006 Senior Instructor Retreat.  The South African distributors of Art Clay, Stanley and Heather Micallef created this exciting new DVD.

03/06/07 - 2007 MCWC Early Registration Expires May 1, 2007

03/07/07 - Retail Price Increase Effective April 15, 2007
Due to an increase in cost of materials and the rising fuel charges, we will be increasing the retail prices only, on many of our items as of April 15, 2007.  This price increase will not affect Art Clay Silver or Gold series products. On a brighter note, many of our laboratory created gemstones will be reduced in price.  New price sheets will be available at the beginning of April.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the main office at 866-381-0100.

03/09/07 - New Master Instructor - Louise Duhamel
We are very pleased to announce that Louise Duhamel has been appointed as our newest Master Instructor.  Louise's new book Metal Clay Jewelry is a great addition to the instructional books on metal clay.  Dedicated to teaching techniques beyond the simple applications of Art Clay, she has incorporated enamaels, Raku, and bead mosaics to her classes.  Louise has appeared on DIY and many magazines.  She also teaches a variety of classes from Art Clay Silver, to wire jewelry, and seed bead work.    We welcome Louise to the position of Master Instructor and look forward to her continued success.
03/13/07 - Lark Books Seeks Submissions
Lark Books is accepting entries for 500 Pendants and Lockets, a new book to be released in spring of 2008.  This book aims to showcase a breathtaking collection that will inspire beginning and professional jewelers alike, as well as delight collectors, scholars, and jewelry enthusiasts.

03/20/07 - Images Sought for MCWC
Louise Duhamel is looking for images of quality Art Clay pieces that have been made using Vitrea china paint, Prisma colored pencils, or Epoxy resin. She will be using them in her presentation entitled ‘Color without a Kiln’ at the Metal Clay World Conference this summer in Las Vegas. Images need to be saved at 300 dpi and as a JPEG or TIFF. They can be emailed to her at enchante@adelphia.net  or burnt onto a CD and mailed. Either way, please contact Louise at the above email address.

04/02/07 - Art Clay Silver at Ghost Ranch
Senior Instructors Max Buros and Lu McGill will be teaching at Ghost Ranch from August 6-12, 2007.  Students will have the opportunity to work with Art Clay to make their own pin, pendant, ring, earrings, and beads.  All students will also have the chance to use glass in their final pieces.  Each student will receive twenty grams of Art Clay per day, and a supply list will be provided prior to the class.  For more information please go to www.ghostranch.org

04/16/07 - Minimum Order Fee Eliminated!
Due to overwhelming customer response we have eliminated the $50.00 minimum order fee of $5.00.  Now you can order as much or as little as you need!

04/16/07 - Shipping & Handling Fee Adjusted!
We have lowered the standard shipping and handling fee from $6.00 per order to $2.50 per order. The $2.50 shipping and handling fee will be added to all orders, including those that meet the free shipping requirements.

04/16/07 - Free Shipping for Online Retail Orders Over $150.00
All online retail orders will now receive free UPS Ground shipping, but will be assessed the standard $2.50 shipping and handling fee.  Free UPS Ground shipping is only available to the contiguous 48 states, and for retail orders placed online.  Any items that cannot be ordered online (due to special shipping) make any order containing them exempt from the free shipping option.

05/01/07 - 2007 SAC Contest Winners Announced!

The theme for the Third Annual North American Design Competition is "Harmony".  This is an opportunity for North American Art Clay artisans to be recognized for their passion and talent in design and workmanship with Art Clay Silver and Gold products. 

05/11/07 - 2007 MCWC Featured Insert in Fired Arts & Crafts!

05/14/07 - Lark Books Seeks Submissions - Deadline August 13, 2007
Lark Books seeks how-to project designers and images to feature in the gallery section of an upcoming publication, The Art of Jewelry: Plastic & Resin, scheduled for release in Fall 2008. All jewelry forms—rings, bracelets, earrings, brooches, necklaces, and others—will be considered. Diverse design styles and techniques—such as laminating, cold connecting, carving, constructing, thermoforming, molding, inlaying, and textile techniques—are desired. 06/14/07 - 2007 Bead Fest - Philadelphia

06/18/07 - New Art Clay Society Director - Katie Baum
Please welcome the addition of a new member of our staff. Katie Baum is the new Director of the Art Clay Society, and will also assist in Marketing and Promotion. Katie is an educator with experience in writing grants, plans and curricula. She is a stickler for detail and has exceptional people and organizational skills. We know she will be an asset to both Art Clay and its instructors. Obviously, she is in the orientation phase, so, she will be assuming her duties in stages.  Please communicate with her at katie@artclayworld.com. We're sure she’d love to hear from you.

06/19/07 - Call for Submissions - Ceramics and Metal Clay
Senior Instructor Trish Jeffers-Zeh (member of The Midwest Ceramic Association and The Potters Council of Ohio) is requesting submissions of pictures and stories from fellow Metal Clay artisans focusing on experiments with metal clay on ceramics. Of particular interest is how overlay paste can be used in order to make these inclusions a success.  Please include pictures you did of things that worked and didn’t work.  Trish loves those pieces that didn’t work as you thought they might.  She calls this “The Wabi-Sabi” otherwise known as “The Beauty of the Imperfection” which has made your creation a surprisingly “Happy Accident” that achieved an interesting effect on a piece.  Send to Trish at zeffersstudios@earthlink.net
06/22/07 - Excalibur Dehydrators Temporary Closure
The manufacturer of our dehydrators, Excalibur, will be closed from July 1-6.  All dehydrators are drop-shipped directly from the manufacturer.  So, if you require a dehydrator by a specific date, please contact the Art Clay World, USA, Inc. main office as soon as possible.

06/25/07 - New Online Map of Master & Senior Instructors
We have recently added a map feature to the list of Master and Senior Instructors online.  This map of North America plots points of all the Master and Senior Instructors' locations.  Users can click on a point and see the name, email, and Art Clay Artist Web Page (if available).  There is also an alphabetical list by state of the instructors in that region below the map; clicking on a listing will show the user the instructor location on the map.  To view this new feature, please go to www.artclayworld.com/senior_instructors.php

07/13/07 - SENIOR & MASTER INSTRUCTORS - IMPORTANT UPDATES!
Senior and Master Instructors, please be aware that some slight modifications have been made to the Level One certification curriculum.  Please login to the website to download the updated curriculum PDF and review these changes.  If you have any difficulties with your login, please refer to the ACW Website Guide or contact the main office.

07/23/07 - ACW Website and E-Mail Unavailable the Weekened of July 28-29!
The Art Clay World Website will be undergoing routine maintenance the weekend of July 28-29.  During this time, the website and online store will be unavailable.  In addition, we will be unable to receive email.  The website and email will return to normal on Monday July 30, 2007. 07/23/07 - Art Clay Artist Exposure - Peggy Koop
Senior Instructor, Peggy Koop, has a featured piece in the upcoming Lark Books publication "New Directions in Metal Clay: 25 Creative Jewelry Projects." The piece selected, "El Makudo" is also featured on the ACW Gallery, click here to view this image. In addition, her wire knit necklace “Tomato-eggplant knit” was featured in the gallery section of Art Jewelry magazine’s July issue. Peggy also won an award for her wire knit necklace titled “Ground Zero” at the Michigan Silversmith’s “Jewelry Objects” show this spring at the Ann Arbor Art Center.

08/08/07 - KBW Foundation Selects Scholarship Recipient for MCWC

09/13/07 - New Book - Enameling on Metal Clay: Innovative Jewelry Products
This 96-page full color book is a great book focusing on Enameling on Metal Clay.  It was written by Art Clay Master Instructor, Pam East, who has been working with enamels for years.
09/13/07 - New Packaging for Standard Series Clay
The package for the original Art Clay Silver (Item # A-004 & A-005) and Art Clay Silver Slow Dry (Item # A-037 & A-038) has been changed.  Images of the new packaging will be available on the Product Information page, and the ACW Online Store very shortly. 
09/28/07 - Metal Clay Veneer Kit Now Available!
This great new product allows artists to create flexible, textured surfaces.  Simply mix the appropriate amount of solution with metal clay, apply to textured surface, and allow to dry.  To achieve maximum flexibility, the veneer sheet must be kiln fired at 1650ºF for two hours.  The veneer cannot be used on rubber stamps or sheets.  For Metal Clay Veneer Kit ordering information, please click here.
09/28/07 - Wenol Metal Polish Replaced with Pikal Care Metal Polish
Due to importation problems, we can no longer stock the abrasive Wenol Metal Polish.  We are carrying a replacement product called Pikal Care Metal Polish that can be used for polishing purposes.  For ordering information on Pikal Care Metal Polish, please click here.

10/12/07 - New Video Clips from the 2007 Metal Clay World Conference!
We are currently working on editing the video that was taken at the 2007 MCWC.  Videos will be posted as they become available on the 2007 MCWC in Retrospect webpage.  Presently, there are eight videos available. 
10/25/07 - A Review of CLASP 2007
Art Clay Senior Instructor, Dana Peters, recently attended the 2007 CLASP as a representative of Art Clay World, USA, Inc.  At this venue, Dana mingled with the convergence of jewelers and absorbed information.
10/26/07 - New Oil Paste Jar - Coming Soon!
Aida Chemical Industries has announced the release of a long-awaited new jar for the Oil Paste.  The new Oil Paste jar is the same shape as the current Overlay Paste jar, which will be squatter to better let you access the Oil Paste.  It will still contain 10g of Oil Paste.  The new jar will become available as soon as our current inventory is depleted.  New pictures will be available on the product information page as well as the shopping cart in the very near future.
10/26/07 - Paragon Kiln Prices to Increase in January 2008
Paragon Industries has announced that the annual price increase for 2008 may be as high as 8% on some kilns.  We suggest that anyone in the market for a kiln place his or her order before the end of December 2007.  Please remember, kilns cannot be purchased through the online store, so please call, email, fax, or mail your kiln orders.
10/26/07 - New Metal Clay Extruder & Extruding Discs - Now Available!

10/26/07 - Holiday Specials Now Available!
Aida Chemical Industries has announced the specials for the upcoming holiday season.  There will be an additional 10% of overall clay volume in 20g and 50g packages of 650/1200 Low Fire Art Clay Silver and 650/1200 Low Fire Slow Dry Art Clay Silver.  This means that 20g packages will contain 22g and 50g packages will contain 55g.  These holiday specials will have a unique item number and will only be available for a limited time.  Click here to view our current specials.

12/17/07 - Excalibur Closed for the Holidays
The Excalibur dehydrator manufacturer will be closed from December 21, 2007 through January 1, 2008.  The will continue to process orders received before December 19, 2007.  All orders after this date will be processed when they resume business on January 2, 2008.
12/20/07 - Art Clay Classes at the Pasadena Bead & Design Show - January 17-20
