2008 North American Design Competition Results |
We want to thank all of you who contributed to this year’s competition, and we invite everyone to watch for next year’s 2009 NAD Competition announcement in April.
There were 21 artists submitting a total of 34 pieces in this year’s competition. All judging was done in a blind numbering system, with the names of all artists being withheld. Pieces were judged on adherence to theme, compliance with category (a wearable piece of art must be wearable), and execution using Art Clay. The judges, Addie Kidd and Jill Erickson of Art Jewelry Magazine and Kalmbach Publishing, poured over each and every submission.
We will be compiling a booklet of all submissions which will be distributed to all contributing artists as well as being available for purchase. |

| We would like to extend a special thanks to this year's judges, Addie Kidd and Jill Erickson. The following is a little more information about the judges: |
Jill Erickson is an Associate Editor for Art Jewelry magazine. She earned her undergraduate, MA, and MFA degrees in drawing and painting, but has consistently been drawn to all sorts of media. The jewelry that Jill makes is influenced by a combination of different disciplines including; printmaking, bookmaking, textile arts, photography, and a fascination with natural history. She lives in the Milwaukee area with her husband, Jerry, who indulges her tendency to turn every room of the house into studio space. |
