12/01/08 – Freshwater Pearls Discontinued
Our pearl resource has discontinued the half–drilled rice shaped pearls. Therefore we will no longer be able to offer the 10 piece freshwater pearls (P–004).

10/19/08 – Art Clay Silver Article in Bead & Button Magazine
Master Art Clay Instructor and President of Art Clay World, USA, Inc., Jackie Truty, has an article publised in the December 2008 issue of Bead & Button Magazine. The article is titled "Silver Spirit" in which step–by–step instructions show you how to make a patinated Art Clay Silver pendant.

09/06/08 – In Memoriam of Senior Instructor, Irene White
We are sad to announce that Senior Instructor, Irene White, passed away on August 18, 2008 from lymphoma. Irene received her Level One Certification in 2002 from Jonna Faulkner, and will be missed in the Art Clay community. We would like to extend our sincere condolences to her family.
08/29/08 – Master Instructor Featured in Gallery

08/06/08 – New Master Instructor – Carol Babineau
Please welcome our newest Master Instructor, Carol Babineau. Carol has been a Senior Instructor for 3 years. She has written numerous articles on metal clay, specifically Art Clay, and has published a book, "Metal Clay–Beyond the Basics," by Kalmbach Publishing.
She teaches extensively out of Nashua, NH, and routinely enters contests like the Silver Accessories Contest out of Japan, and the NAD through Art Clay World, USA, for which she has won 2 awards. Carol is a committed Art Clay instructor, and will be joining the other Master Instructors in October at the Masters Retreat, in Oak Lawn, IL.
07/14/08 – 2008 North American Design Competition – UPDATED 08/06/08!
The theme for the 2008 NAD Contest is "Celebration", so begin working on your ideas for entry in this year’s competition. The deadline for entries will be Friday, October 3, 2008, and judging will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008.

06/20/08 – 12th Annual Pearl Competition

06/09/08 – Overall Price Increase Effective July 15, 2008
Art Clay World, USA, Inc. will be raising prices as of July 15, 2008, which will affect most products, including Art Clay Silver. New pricelists will be available as we approach the effective date.
06/08/08 – Art Clay Silver on Television
Art Clay Senior Instructor, Sophia Tink filmed a TV segment about Art Clay Silver for CHEX Television, in which she shows finished pieces and explains different techniques. The segment was filmed at Sir Sanford Fleming College, Haliburton School of the Arts in Ontario Canada. The “Art Clay” show will air on Monday, June 9th at 5:30pm on CHEX Television (Locally: Channel 12, Cable 2 / Across Canada: Starchoice Satellite Ch. 348 , Bell Express Vu Ch. 217).
05/20/08 – 2008 Silver Accessories Contest Exhibition
The exhibition of pieces from the 2008 Silver Accessories Contest will be held in Tokyo, Japan this June and July! Laurie Yoder, an American winner in the 2008 SAC Contest, will have her piece displayed at this event. In addition, Laurie and her husband will be present to personally receive the award. 04/29/08 – Turning Leaf Wood Art Gallery
Master Instructor, Pam East, has been invited as the "Featured Artist" at the Turning Leaf Wood Art Gallery on Saturday May 17th from 12pm to 5pm. 04/17/08 – 2008 Silver Accessories Contest Results
The 2008 Silver Accessories Contest results have been announced with all the pictures of the winning pieces and a small movie of the final judging. Please use this link to view the complete contest results. A special congrats to Art Clay Instructor Laurie Yoder, whose entry, "Travelog" won semi–grand prix Art Clay Club Chairman’s ’ Award in the 2008 Silver Accessories Contest. Her entry received the highest award ever attained by a North American artist. In addition to a 100,000 yen monetary award (over $900), Laurie has been invited to be Aida Chemical Industries’ guest in Japan to receive the award personally. Out of an amazing 577 submissions from all over the world, only 36 were selected for final judging, and only 8 overseas (not Japan) entries received awards. Laurie’s entry topped the list!! Travelog is a combination of Art Clay, resin, photos and objects, forming an intricate necklace that interpreted this year’s theme, "traveling." 02/29/08 – New Master Instructor - Dana Peters
Please welcome Dana Peters as the newest Art Clay Master Instructor. Dana uses the Native American culture, nature and the mountains for ideas and inspiration. Over the past 20 years she has taught everything from cooking to stitchery as well as coaching many ages of soccer players and has worked in just about every creative medium. Even though she loves to work on her own pieces and let her creativity have the reins, helping students learn to use their own creativity and imaginations has been the most enjoyable experience for her.
02/25/08 – Price Changes
Art Clay Gold Paste (A-109) – Due to the rise in cost of gold, the Art Clay Gold Paste will incur a price increase effective March 1, 2008. The new prices for the Art Clay Gold Paste will be available at that time. Certified Instructors can view the upcoming price change by logging into the website.
Accent Gold for Silver (A-021) – Due to the rise in cost of gold, the Accent Gold for Silver has increased in price. The current prices on the web and pricelist reflect this change.
02/25/08 – New Products
3g 22k Art Clay Gold (A-123) & 7g 22k Art Clay Gold (A-124) – Aida Chemical Industries has announced the release of new 3g & 7g packages of 22k Art Clay Gold. These new products will replace the discontinued 5g & 10g 22k Art Clay Gold packages.
UV Resin Warmer (F-247) – Use this warmer to thin and help remove bubbles from your UV Resin. This warmer can also be used to dry small Art Clay pieces. The unit plugs into a standard 120v household outlet.
Metal Clay: Beyond the Basics Book (S-105) – This new book was written by Art Clay Senior Instructor, Carol Babineau. This 95-page full color book contains step-by-step instructions for earrings, bracelets, pendants, pins, toggles, and clasps. The book is another great addition to the line of metal clay publications.
02/25/08 – Discontinued Products
5g & 10g 22k Art Clay Gold Packages – Aida Chemical Industries has announced the discontinuation of the 5g & 10g packages of 22k Art Clay Gold. Once our remaining inventory is depleted, these items will no longer be available.
50g + 5g 650/1200 Low Fire Slow Dry Holiday Package (A-139H) – Our remaining inventory has been depleted of the 55g Low Fire Slow Dry Holiday Packages.
02/25/08 – Product Changes
Starter Kit (ST-01) – The Starter Kit will now come with 20g 650/1200 Low Fire Slow Dry Clay (A-137). This clay will replace the 20g 650/1200 Low Fire Clay (A-054) in all future Starter Kit purchases.
Graduated Slat Set (F-125) – These slat sets now come fully colored for easy identification.
Rawhide Mallet (F-028) – We have replaced our rawhide mallet with a larger version, for the same price. The new mallet has a handle that is 11” long and the rawhide head is 2.75" long by 1.25" diameter. Remember, this mallet will not mar metal.
Micro Mesh Sanding Pads (F-146) – These great sanding pads now come color coded for easy identification.
