Acid-washed coconut carbon is suitable for use with any brand of formula metal clay that requires an oxygen-restricted firing environment. This small, granular carbon is environmentally friendly, made from coconut shell, and does not create any harmful fumes or smoke during metal clay firings. The carbon itself does not produce any residue inside the kiln. Remove the top layer of ash after each use by blowing the light ash off the carbon surface. Remaining carbon may be re-used over and over; this 1lb package is enough to fill a 4"x4"x2" firing pan with some left over for refilling the pan for dozens of future firings.
