By virtue of my on-going, life-long interest in nature, my Zoology degree, a number of my personal works reflect that influence. Textures shapes and forms, especially fish and sea-life, mingle in my imagination and are so reproducible in silver clay. I enjoy making my own textures from leaves and other forms found in nature, and hope to incorporate even more custom textures and forms in my future work.
Metal clay is such a healing, engrossing process that captures me every time I pick it up! Although I enjoy making my own work and fabricating commissions for special clients, my first love is sharing this medium with others! Teaching silver clay, to beginners and more advanced students is my favorite aspect of this medium. Introducing complete newbies, who swear they haven't a creative bone in their bodies, is the best! Seeing their work, when their imaginations break free as the clay beacons and enchants them, is so rewarding and positive for everyone involved!
Aside from helping people discover their inner artist, demonstrating safe and reproducible techniques is my primary focus. Helping people discover their own voice and style is such an amazing process! Making and teaching silver clay fabrication, incorporating various types of focal pieces and accessories is something I plan to pursue for many years to come!
